Colour Me Scrappy Challenge #39

Hello, hope you have all had a great weekend. Winter is finally here and it has been a bit chilly here in Melbourne but it has given me some time to organise my scrappy supplies for my big move it a couple of weeks and to have a bit of a play too.

Today I am sharing my layout for the Color Me Scrappy Challenge #39. Here is the colour palette:

I won't lie, purple scares me and I went through all of my supplies and I have NOTHING purple so I had to get a bit creative and did some watercolour splotches to start off the background.
These pictures are from Balinese NYE (Nyepi) and are of an Ogoh Ogoh which are papier mache "monsters" that villagers make to scare away evil spirits. They carry them down the street and make lots of noise to confuse the spirits. Traditionally the Ogoh Ogoh are burnt at the end of the night however now a lot of them are very grand and a lot of time and money has gone into building them so they are kept after the parade for the following year. This huge pig one was my favourite, it was easily the size of a bus and had around 40 men carrying it.

If you would like to play along and see all the awesome inspiration from the design team head on over to the Color Me Scrappy Blog.

Thanks for stopping by,

  1. It's funny purple scares me too. But when I looked at the colors I saw the purple more as grey I didn't even see purple.
