Sleepy Cat

I hope you all had a great weekend. I have been up at my parents place in the country which is always a nice break away from busy Melbourne. When I am up there I also get to see my "baby" Winston.
Because I live in a small place I can only have Harry with me here (because he is older and likes to be indoors). So when I come home Winston loves to spend time with me and even curls up to sleep next to me and has a habit of sleeping in. So that is how this layout came about.

I used this week Studio Calico Sunday Sketch as a starting point.

I used Studio Calico Sock Hop Kit and have totally fallen in LOVE with the little geometric shapes from the Darling Dear Triangle and Diamond Veneer. So much fun and I will have to get a second pack I think :)

The little "z"s are from Amy Tangerine Scene Sketchbook Foam Thicker's in silver - love them too!

The little polaroid frames where cut with my silhouette (I still have the SD - maybe santa will bring the cameo).

Christmas Cards - Part 1

Well the silly season is upon us so it is time to organise cards, I am really slack at this because I don't really have anyone close who I send them to and they usually go out about a day before christmas when I think of someone I forgot but I really enjoy making them. I started earlier this year and did some in October but I am still making them when I can. Here are some of the ones I have made already:

I will be sharing some more later in the week. I hope you all have a great weekend and to those of you in the states Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to share this because it really made me smile

December Daily (2011)

I wish I was organised enough to show the base for 2012 but the honest truth is I have only just finished last years. I got way behind, then I just really thought I wasn't going to bother but then I saw all the DD inspiration everywhere and I got fired up and finished. I am so glad I did and I thought I would share a couple of pages with you.
I used OA Holiday Style from last year which was a lovely collection. I used paper from the 8X8 pad which is single sided so I stitched two pages back to back to create my pages.

The outside is covered with my last piece of Hambly Transparencies - I miss them.

Anyway thanks for stopping by and I would love to know what you have planned for your DD this year,

ScrapFriends Colour Palette Challenge

I was super excited last month when I was a winner in the ScapFriends colour palette challenge and as part of the prize I was asked to be a Guest Designer for this months challenge. The colour palette was a lovely combination:
I cam across two photo's that I thought were very alike. One is of me aged 17 months and the other is of my dad around the same age. We have the exact same look on our faces, which is a bit of a pout (so now I know where I get it from!).

I used bits and pieces from all through my stash and also did a couple of silhouette cuts which I made myself.

Make sure you stop by the ScrapFriends Blog and play along for your chance to win a fabulous pack of goodies from Jenni Bowlin.

And to celebrate being a guest designer I have a free download of the "& frame" I designed. It is a studio file and you can download it here

Thank you for stopping by,

We have a winner... (and a freebie)

Thank you to everyone who stops by my blog and leaves lovely comments, I love reading them so much. And as promised I have drawn a winner for the Amy Tangerine stamp set and the winner is...

Congrats on the Sunday Sketch! That is exciting :) Love the stamp set.

Congratulations Monica and thank you to everyone who entered!

Also some of you who do Project Life and read Becky Higgins blog will know she recently had a competition to design a Christmas card for readers to download for free and add their own photo too. I entered two designs but alas was not chosen however I figured there was no reason why I couldn't share them with you anyways. These are the cards I designed (I have added the picture so you will know what they look like decorated)

Handmade Hat and a Shop Update

Last tuesday was Melbourne Cup, a horse race which is nicknamed "the race that stops the nation" and it pretty much does. It is a public holiday here in Victoria but the rest of the country likes to stop at 3.00pm for 3 minutes to see who will win and more often than not it is not a favourite.
I went along to the racecourse where it was held this year and of course needed a hat to wear.
I LOVE hats, I wish I could wear a hat every day of the week. Anyway I had checked out some of the hats and fascinators in Myers and David Jones (our two big department stores here) and I have to tell you I am in the wrong business. A nice-ish fascinator goes for about AU$100, a great one is over AU$200!!!!

Anyway I wanted a new hat and the one I loved was worth a weeks rent and I thought why not make my own. So I did. It was actually quite easy I just used some fabric and interlining which I quickly stitched into a long rectangle and then ironed pleats into it. I attached it to a head band, added a fabric flower I had in my sewing box and a quill. Viola new fascinator for about $5 (and I did get lots of nice comments and questions about it so I was pretty pleased!)

Today my Etsy Store has been updated with my newest designs of printable journal cards. I have to say these cards are my favourite and I hope you will like them too.

Tomorrow I will be drawing the winner of the Amy Tangerine Stamp so if you haven't entered yet, have a look at this post

Thanks for dropping by,
