CSI Case #57

Today I am sharing a layout I made for CSI: Colors, Stories, Inspiration challenge #57.
I have only just discovered this site, I had seen a lot of peoples challenges on their blogs but I had never  visited the site. The interesting thing about these challenges is that as well as colours they require you to use certain elements and a journalling topic. This really appealed to me because it added to the challenge. Here is this months:

The colours and elements were easy for me but the journalling is where I had to push myself. You may have noticed that my layout pretty much never include journalling. I hate my hand writing and I never know what to say but for this layout I used the prompt "document a love story". This layout is about our family cat (Mum and Dad's) who passed away last year and I wrote a little letter about how much she meant to the family and how much we loved her. I put this into a little white die cut envelope (so I didn't have to see my writing!) and secured it under one of the layers with a little bulldog clip so you can take it out and read it.

I cut into the wood veneer frame so it look like the photo was layered through it and used the off cut to balance out the page. Here is a close up of Miss Tabby's beautiful little face. She was 15 when she passed.

Thanks so much for visiting,

  5. So hard when a pet passes away and I understand about hating your own handwriting, I'm the same way but I've learned we are our own worse critics and it's never as bad as we think it is! Just stopping by as a new member of Frosted Design Design Team to say hi, join your blog ( couldn't find a Follower app ) and I am looking forward to getting to know you better :) waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥
