Scrap Our Stash - Sketch with a Twist

It's time for me to reveal my layout for the second Scrap Our Stash challenge for August. This time we are digging into our stash to use game themed pieces and using the sketch below
I had a lot of fun with this sketch adding lots of layers and bits and pieces. I am currently working on a family album for my mum so I have been sorting through a lot of crazy 80's pics including this one of me with dad, I am not sure what he is wearing or why LOL.
For the gaming pieces I used some scrabble tiles that I have had sitting around in my art cupboard (I actually bought them on ebay to use for crafting). To adhere them to the page I used Diamond Glaze, which is what I used to stick down the wood veneer as well.
I choose a lot of bright colours because I thought it worked well for an 80's theme without looking too dated (like the photo - seriously what is my dad wearing????)
As you can see I used lots of bits and pieces of embellishments, one of my favourites being the little vellum pocket which I filled with wood veneer stars.

There is still time to enter so head on over to Scrap Our Stash to play along for this months prize.

Thanks for stopping by,

  1. Love your layers on this page, Manda!! And the wood grain background makes a perfect base for the different patterns! Those Scrabble letters were such a fun idea for your title!
