Sketchabilities #97

Today I am sharing layout for sketch #97 for the Sketchabilities Design Team, this is my second last layout with them as a DT and it has been so great to work with such amazing and talented designers. I would have loved to stay on but there is a lot happening in my life at the moment.

I have been playing with some Elle's Studio papers and decided to cut apart the vellum from the saltwater collection for this layout, then I stitched around them to give it some definition. The thing I didn't realise until I photographed the layout was just how crooked the arrows were and because I put the little wooden frame on an angle it looks even more out of whack :(
I used two pieces of Elle's Studio Paper as the base, the bottom one had a little pennant in the corner and I thought would be a fun touch to fussy cut it using a blade and then slide the top paper underneath. I also added a piece of the vellum to add some extra colour.
Anyway this is a photo I took of a Gecko when I was in Bali earlier this year. They are pretty much everywhere and this one took to hanging out on the balcony of our room. The title is the Indonesian word for Gecko which is Cecak (pronounced Che-chak).

We would love to see your take on this sketch. Go link up your layout to the sketchabilities blog. Don't forget you have a chance at an amazing prize from Quick Quotes.

Hope you have all had a great week,
