#TGIFC276 Color Challenge

Hello!

I hope everyone is doing well today, especially those of you who are in Melbourne near me, I know it's really hard right now but we can get through this. For me crafting helps A LOT to keep me occupied and not go stir crazy, so I have been getting lots of inspiration from the challenges.

This weeks TGIF Challenge #276 is a colour challenge and this one really pushed me because it wasn't the kind of combination that I would usually choose:

I decided to use the Today's Tiles Set, I have had it for a while now but hadn't got round to using it. This is a set that layers so I had to use my Stamparatus to line it up (you could probably do it by sight with a clear block if you have a steady hand - unfortunately I do not)

The stamp itself is 8 tiles together so I stamped the image twice once in Magenta Madness with Bermuda Bay accents and then again in reverse. Once this was done I cut them up and assembled them in alternating colours onto a piece of the grape cardstock. I was going to stamp the sentiment straight onto the card base but felt it needed a little something extra.

The stamp set also comes as a bundle with a beautiful set of dies (see below), unfortunately I don't currently have my die cutting machine with me as I had to relocate very last minute due to the Melbourne Lockdown, but in the end the plain square was a nice against to the detail of the stamped images.

Speaking of dies and die cutting machines I am very excited to have the new Cut and Emboss Machine heading my way!

It will be available to customers from 1st September BUT Did you know that you too can get this now and SAVE?
Join my team and you can add this to your 'starter' kit. This machine is worth $209 but for just $169 you can get the machine AND get an additional $26 to spend on whatever like.

If you have any questions about joining up (or about anything!) feel free to contact me!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you are all having a wonderful week.

CAS(E) this Sketch #384

 Welcome back!

Today I am playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch #384 using one of my favourite sets - Forever Fern.

This is the sketch:

I remained mostly true to the sketch and just adjusted my sentiment placing.

Because I wanted the image to be in the exact same place on the top panel, I used my Stamparatus and placed both pieces in and stamped at the same time.

To get the tonal colours I used sponge daubers to colour the stamps. I used Cajun Craze and Cinnamon Cider for the leaves and Crushed Curry with a very light touch of Cajun Craze for the berries.

To finish off I used a sentiment from the Prized Peony set. (You can see a full list of supplies at the bottom of this post).

I really enjoyed using this sketch and I have already made a few more cards using this design. I am also loving the autumnal colour palette for this card and very happy with the way the colours blended together.

Global Design Project #252 | CASE the Designer

 Hello!

Today I am sharing a card I made for the newest Global Design Project Challenge which is to CASE this beautiful card by Artisan Design Team Member Emma Goddard.

I loved the watercolour background on this so I wanted to include that element and also decided to keep the image as a floral but went with a darker colour palette.

I used the Prized Peony Set. I have only just got this set, I held off because I thought the main image was too large but now I have it I absolutely love it and you will be seeing plenty of cards using this one from me soon.
I water coloured the background and the images using ink, to do this I just put a little bit on an acrylic block and mix in a tiny bit of water. You could also use aqua painters but I didn't have mine handy.

The sentiment and the splatters are from the Forever Fern stamp set.
For the red ribbon, I used a piece of the Forever Greenery Very Vanilla ribbon and coloured with some ink mixed with water (I used a paint brush to apply it).

I'm so happy with how this card has come out! You can see a full list of supplies at the bottom of this post.

Global Design Project will be releasing a new challenge tomorrow and you can play along HERE

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend!
