Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday - Scallops

It's time for another Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge and this week we are asking you to use scallops on your projects - easy right? Here is my take on the challenge:

This weeks challenge is sponsored by Words or Whatever, who are giving the winner 10 sets of chipboard of your choice. You have to be in it to win it so head on over to Frosted Designs and get inspired by the DT and play along.

Life Paper Scrapbook Sketch 3

Well I have had a busy but amazing week this week. It started out with rushing to get the final touches onto Life.Paper.Scrapbook's first issue and since it's release on Wednesday the response has been overwhelming. I am so touched by everyone's support and kind words - it really means so very much to me. If you haven't had a chance to look (I would love it if you could), you can find it here!

Today I am sharing a layout I did for the next sketch, challenge #3
I decided to turn the sketch on it's side to work with the two portrait style photos I was using (of two very cheeky monkeys I saw at the Monkey Forest in Ubud, Bali)

I decided to stick with a fairly neutral colour palette but had used an airmail envelope that I picked up on my travels as a photo matt so I coloured my Sn@p alphabet stickers to match.

This month we have a great prize from A Piece of Cake Designs - two packs of Cherry Flair of your choice! They have a great range of colours and themes so make sure you have a look.

To see all  the details for the challenge and the awesome work of the rest of the DT head on over to Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

Hope you and your family all have a wonderful and safe Easter,

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Up, Up & Away

It's time for another Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge and this weeks theme is Up, Up & Away. We want to see what you can do with the things you see in the sky.... hot air balloons, kites, planes, clouds, birds, butterflies... anything up in the air.

I decided to go with a card for this challenge (I don't think I have shared any cards here but I used to make them all the time and that is how I got into scrapbooking).

I really liked these hot air balloons from the  Echo Park Everyday Eclectic collection which I have been hoarding for the last year but I wasn't sure what to use them for - see if you keep things long enough they will be useful eventually (that's what I keep telling myself!)

And the background paper? That is from Sassafras so it's been stashed away too!

This challenge has been sponsored by Creative Chaos and they are giving away an altered box filled with various handmade flowers to the value of $25.00!

Head on over to Frosted Designs to see 4 days worth of DT inspiration and to play along.

Color Me Scrappy Challenge #34

Sorry about the lull in posts, I am away on holiday. I am actually typing this in the beautiful town of Ubud, Bali. I have been to Bali many times (this is my 13th time - we always joke with the locals that it is my second home, and to be honest it feels like that now) so I am not doing a lot of sightseeing, just a lot of relaxing, eating yummy food and of course taking lots of photos. But more about that when I get back .

Now onto the next Color Me Scrappy challenge, I struggled with this months colours because they are not what I would usually pick but then the point of a challenge is to try things you wouldn't do.

And this months twist is to use tags and/or stitching - naturally I went with the stitching.

To add the slightly darker pink and green I used a darker thread to stitch around my stamped arrows. Also this is my first A4 layout which was really so the photo and the stitched panel fitted right accross but I really like this size so I will do a few more.

Now go on over to Color Me Scrappy to see the DT's creations and for details of how to play along.

Terimahkasi :)

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge

Another exciting day - boy it has been a busy weekend! Today is my first reveal for the Frosted Designs Team and the challenge this week is a favourite of mine - CHEVRONS!

For this layout I cut my own mask just using an old piece of cardboard and a box cutter then I got out my Mr. Huey's and went crazy, then I just stitched along with my embroidery floss.

The challenge runs until 14 March so you have plenty of time to play along and the prize is fantastic - a $20 gift voucher to spend at The Paper Trail - awesome!

Hope you have had a great weekend,

Color Me Scrappy #33 Reveal

I am so excited to be part of the new Color Me Scrappy Design Team, firstly I get to be challenged (and you know I love that) with colours and also I get to work with a group of fabulous ladies from all over the world.

Today is the reveal for challenge #33 and it is a bright and happy one and as well as these beautiful colours we want you to use the sketch below as well for a bit of a twist.

This is what I came up with...

The photo I used on this layout was taken last year at Melbourne Zoo - their baby elephant Mali was celebrating her first birthday so they organised a Mali's on Parade where various artists painted statues of her for charity. When I saw the colour scheme I knew that this photo was perfect.
The sketch was great for me to dig into my 6x6 paper pads which more often than not only come out for my PL album and also it was only right that I used that adorable little elephant from Amy Tangerine - it's so darn cute! (As a side note a couple of weeks ago Mali got a new sister, the Melbourne Zoo does an amazing job with their breeding program and it is wonderful to see them help preserve these beautiful animals that we are losing so quickly from the wild.)

Now you've seen what I have done head on over to Color Me Scrappy check out what the rest of the DT have created and play along. Do you like surprises? Of course you do! Well the prize for this challenge is a Mystery Grab Bag - how fun!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend and that you have some time to get scrappy,
