Global Design Project #266 | Sketch Challenge

 Hello!

I haven't created in a very long time, I have just started Uni and I'm still trying to balance out my time to make more crafty hours.

I decided I needed to get back into it so I played along with the newest sketch challenge from Global Design Project #GPD266

I bought the lovely Snowflake Splendour paper and it had just been sitting there so I decided because this sketch had layers I would crack it open.

Usually I start with a stamp set when I am designing a card so because I started with paper for this one I used quite a few different items for this card (you can see a full list of supplies below).

I am totally in Love with the little dear from the Wishes and Wonder Bundle, there is also another slightly different one in the die set that cuts and embosses. It's a beautiful set for Christmas.

I was feeling a bit of the grungy vibes today so I roughed up the edges of the paper and also ink blended over the embossing.

I am really happy with how this one came out.

Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you had a wonderful weekend.

CAS(E) This Sketch | Challenge #390

 Welcome back to my blog!

Today I am sharing a card I made for CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #390. Here is the sketch:

When I saw the sketch I decided that it would be ideal for a Christmas card using my Poinsettia Place stamp set.

I have included a full list of supplies I used at the end of the post. (Glitter paper is from my own stash).

I wanted to create some bulk to my bouquet so in addition to using the leaf and berries from the poinsettia dies I also used the leaf die from Forever flourishing dies.

The poinsettia was stamped in Real Red and then I used the Poppy colour marker to create some contrast, then die cutting it out I decided to fussy cut it to remove any white outline. When I layered the petals together I bent them slightly to give dimension.

Once I had the card all put together I couldn't fit the sentiment where it was in the sketch without covering up the lovely flocked vellum so I moved it up higher to balance out the card.

I am so happy with how this card came out, it may be one of my favourites I have ever made!

Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you have a beautiful day!

CAS Colours & Sketches | Challenge #388 - Colours

Hello,

Today I am sharing a card I have made for CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge #388

This week it is a colour challenge:

I was a bit unsure of how to use this colour combo but it has a very autumn feel so I decided to use the stitched leaf dies.

Here is how I made the card (full list of supplies below - sequins are from my own stash).

  • I started with a white card base and very carefully flicked cinnamon cider ink using a slightly wet paint brush (not too wet, or it will go in huge splodges!).
  • Next I stamped the leaf stamp from Beautful Autumn on a piece of white card cut to 2 inches wide in versa mark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
  • I blended the inks over the top of the embossing and adhered to card front
  • The leaves are cut using the stitched leaves dies, the large in crumb cake, the smallest in cinnamon and the medium in gold
  • I tied a piece of the gold twin in a bow and then layered the leave on top.
  • I stamped the sentiment last and added sequins.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
