Scrap Our Stash: Sketch Challenge

FOR THE SCRAP OUR STASH ABC ~ 123 BLOG HOP
CLICK HERE.

Time for another Scrap Our Stash reveal. Today I am sharing a layout made using this sketch:
the twist for this challenge is to use chipboard somewhere on your layout.
As you know love a good sketch challenge, so this one was a lot of fun for me. I did have a dig round in my older stash too and used some bits and pieces I had forgotten about which always gives me a little *yay!* feeling  For the chipboard I used some Pink Paislee Luxe stars but they kind of faded into the background so I added some gold glitter stars on top to give them some pop.
This layout is about Winston "helping" when I try to make the bed, it's a huge game for him but it can be a bit tiresome which is why I used the title Bed Bug. He is a total goof sometimes!
Don't forget to join in the ABC 123 blog hop for a chance to win some great prizes. I am also having a giveaway at this post HERE.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,

Scrap Our Stash: ABC 123 Blog Hop

Welcome to Scrap Our Stash ABC ~123 Blog Hop

You should have arrived here from JENNI'S blog.
If not, click HERE and head back to the beginning of the hop. You will not want to miss any of the designer’s awesome inspiration and/or the details on how to enter into the SOS prize drawings!

The design team was challenged to create a layout inspired by our choice of one of three sketches and our choice of alphas (stash items) to include on our layouts.
Here is my layout inspired by Sketch #2 and using stash items: U - Upcylcle and V- Vellum

Because it was a back to school challenge, I wanted to continue with the theme so I decided to do another page for our family heritage album and chose this picture of my mum in 5th Grade (then called 5th class).
For my upcycled elements I used some old book pages I had in my mixed media stash - a page from Alice In Wonderland and an old atlas. The map page was quite bright so I used the vellum to tone it down a bit.  I also dug deep into the archives and found some old OA school theme stickers from several years ago and the chipboard pencil from Cosmo Cricket.
And those of you who know me will have picked up that I am a carbon copy of my mother (except she got the skinny genes!!! LOL)

And here is the sketch:

Polly Scrap Kits September Kit

I am so excited to announce that I have joined the Polly Scrap Kits Design Team. My good friend Ruth (who you will know as the Life Paper Scrapbook blog co-ordinator) has recently taken over the running of this neat Aussie Kit club, they offer monthly kits for scrapbooking and project life.

I was so excited to receive the September kit (with has sold out already!) and loved all the goodies inside, including new Glitz and My Minds Eye. I wanted to share my first two layouts with you.

As I mentioned this month's kits went super quick so if you are interested in next month's kit you can subscribe to avoid missing out.

This year Polly is releasing it's first December Daily kit and if you are in Australia it is awesome value and a good local alternative if you don't want to pay international shipping fees. You can find all the information here.

Thanks for stopping by,

Scrap Our Stash - Oh The Places We Go!

It's the 14th and that means it's time for another Scrap Our Stash reveal from me. The first challenge this month is call "Oh the Places We Go!" and it is all about travelling.
As you know I love to travel, although I do not get to do it as much as I would like but who does? I am fortunate enough to travel to Bali at least once a year to spend some time relaxing and seeing friends and I often document what I do and see but I realised I never really have recorded the travel process. So this layout is all about getting from point A to point B.
I recently got a lot of Basic Grey Carte Postale in a couple of kits so I put it all together and worked exclusively with that. To be honest at first I wasn't really feeling the colours of this collection but after working with them I actually really like them now.
Now you have seen what I have put together head on over to the Scrap Our Stash Blog to play along. There is a great Bo Bunny prize pack this month for one lucky randomly drawn winner.

Hope you have all had a creative weekend,

30 Lists: Day 1

Last september I signed up to do 30 Days of Lists, as with most things I sign up to I just never got around to doing it, so I was a bit undecided whether to attempt it again this year but I decided to give it a go and have challenged myself to complete it. As part of that challenge I am going to blog about it to hold myself accountable.

Because I am pretty busy at the moment editing the 3rd issue of Life.Paper.Scrapbook. I wanted to keep the whole thing as streamlined as possible so I am just using a Sn@p album and some Project Life cards. If I add in embellishments that will be fantastic but if I don't that's OK
The first list is NEW THIS YEAR...
1. I started Life.Paper.Scrapbook.
2. I moved back home
3. I am about to move into my brand new studio
4. I got an iPad
5. I have just started working on eating and living healthier

So day one has been a great success now just to keep going. I am going to blog my lists every couple of days, as I said to keep me accountable and also because I have DT commitments and other things I want to blog.

Are you doing 30 Days of Lists this year? I would love to see your lists if you are.

Sketchabilities 98

Today is my last reveal for the Sketchabilities DT. I have had so much fun during my term with them and have been able to work with some wonderful designers. The last sketch was such a lovely one that I wanted to use it for a layout in my family tree album which I am putting together.

This photo is of my grandparents on their wedding day in 1939. The original photo had some scratches and marks so I worked on it in photoshop to clean it up a bit. My grandmothers wedding dress was "delphinium blue" so I decided to use some blue to life the page a bit, the fabric strips and flower are from the Pink Paislee Artisan Collection and I just used some diluted mists to colour them and also the doily. As you know I am not one for a lot of journaling because I really don't like my handwriting but for a family tree album there has to be lots of journaling so I have tucked it into the Fancy Pants pocket under the photo. As well as full page layouts like this I am also using divided pages for photos, journaling and snippets.

This weeks sponsor for the challenge is C'est Magnifique Kits who are generously giving away one of their kits valued at $40.00. To play along head over to the Sketchabilities blog and link up your creation.

Have a wonderful weekend,
